I want a lunch do over

So today I'm working from home.

Usually that means I'll make a fairly fancy, or at least yummy stay at home lunch. This time, I didn't have anything around the house and in fact needed to visit the store for groceries for dinner.

While there I decided I'd just grab some of their take out chinese. Okay lesson learned. If I want take out chinese food from the grocery store, go to one that has a Panda Express. The Safeway Chines Takeout is crap. Actually, that is insulting to crap. Its really bad. Do not eat it. Save your $5.49. For the same price you can get a DiGorno Take and Bake Pizza. Next time I'll do that.

Lesson Learned,
T

She drives me crazy

But now I have a reason to watch her show a bit more often.

And for the record, Guys don't like Rachel Ray, but we do like the Rachel Ray Drinking Game.

Enjoy,

New American Stir Fry

Okay- I promise this is the last BBQ flavored post for a while. Maybe until next summer.

At any rate last night I was craving Stir Fry, I even made a special trip to the new asian market to make sure I got the right combo of noodles and sauces. Unfortunately, by the time I got home I didn't feel like all the effort of the noodles, and, well, I was just feeling lazy. So here came plan B.

BBQ Stir Fry.
I had some leftover chicken that I had grilled the other day and some potatoes, so I thought, why not - -gotta use those leftovers somehow, and besides if its just aweful and I can't eat it, well... I could use to skip a meal now and again.

So without further backstory, here is what I did.

Stir Fry (Medium High Heat in a big frying pan)
Chopped Red Onion
Chopped Green Peppers
Sugar Snap Peas cut in bite size chunks
Leftover grilled chicken in bite size pieces
Leftover roasted potatoes in bite size pieces.

Once everything is nice and warm, add in a few sloshes around the pan of your favorite BBQ sauce.
Add in a squeeze of honey.

Stir it around until its all well distributed.

Serve.

And for the big suprise,
it was actually pretty good. Probably won't see it popping up in any restaurants soon, but really, not bad.

Try it and enjoy,
T

Guys Like Bar-B-Que

Okay you lazy cooks- this one'll get you everytime. And ladies, make this and he'll lick your fingers too (if that's what you're into.)

Honestly, this is a great date meal because not only do you have that amazing bar-b-q flavor but it can be mess free, its like the best of both worlds. (And it's cheap)

T's Boneless Ribs

2 bottle Bullseye BBQ Sauce
1 lb Pork Shoulder Country Style Rib Boneless

Directions
Preheat oven to 300
Put ribs and sauce in a large casserole dish or a dutch oven.
Make sure sauce completely covers meat in the dish.
Place in oven for 2 hours, turning every half hour.
Feel free to cook longer, pork will only get softer which = better.

Other tips:
Bullseye BBQ Sauce is the favorite of America's Test Kitchen.
Kraft Honey BBQ Sauce tastes like KFC's old BBQ recipe if that flavor strikes your fancy.

Feeling like you want to get fancy?
Brown the ribs first.

Fancier than that?
Add your own honey and brown sugar to the sauce. Be liberal, you can't overdue it.

Lazy Guy Tip:
Use disposable aluminum baking dish from the store and throw it out after the meal.

Eat and Enjoy,
T

Guys like Pizza

Its a fact. We do. Lately I've been makin' quite a few at home. It's simple, satisfying, and manly.

Here's how I've been makin' them lately.

Warm the oven and pizza stone to 450.

Pour yourself a nice glass of wine - a Shiraz goes well with this, and the cook always deserves a drink.

Roll out a bag of Trader Joes Pizza Dough (I like the garlic and herb, but if you are trying to be healthy go for the whole wheat.)

Use a few spoonfuls of Newman's Own Sockarooni Pasta Sauce.

Toss on some shredded mozzarella cheese.

Rough chop some red onion and green pepper.

Pepperoni. Guys love pepperoni!

Here's the deal - roll out the dough with lots of flour on a cutting board. Place it on the stone and stick it in the oven until it starts to get a little crisp around the edges. While that's happening, chop your toppings. Once you get a little crisp, pull that baby out, put some olice oil around the outside crust, and then toss your toppings on - (cheese first, pepperoni- cover the pie in pepperoni it always shrinks up and you don't want and roni free bites, peppers then onions- guys like to see their toppings on top of the cheese - never hide the pepperoni!). Stick that bad boy back in the oven until the cheese bubbles and the rest of the stuff starts to get a bit crispy.

Pull her out- let her rest, then cut her up.

Eat it and enjoy-
T

Welcome

Okay- been thinking about this for a while. Time to stop getting fat from food and writing a little something about it.

I got the idea for this a site a few weeks ago - I was making myself some lunch while working at home. I gotta tell you sausage and peppers, some marinara on a french roll and some roasted potatoes.

Damn!

GUY FOOD!

So here we are, food by guys, for guys. Because guys like to eat.
And we can be a bit pickey sometimes.

I'll tell you what we like, where we eat, what we eat.

Remember the other key to a man's heart is thru his stomache - so chicks should read this too.

Enjoy-
